Ted Saad, DGA
Three time Emmy winner Ted Saad has produced and directed award-winning multi-camera reality-based programs, prime-time series, and documentaries. As VP of Programming and Production for LIME, Steve Case’s new multi-media green, health and wellness company where he was responsible for creating and developing programming and talent across the all platforms, including television, broadband, Sirius satellite radio, VOD, DVD, podcasts and mobile content. He was also instrumental in strategic planning and acquisitions for the overall network brand.
He recently completed a pilot on a reality series for TBS about a mob family trying to get out of the mob and a second one for TNT about the Ringling Brother’s Circus. Ted was Director on Gastineau Girls for E!, Executive Producer of a dating show pilot for NBC/Bravo and a new series for Discovery Health entitled Dr. Know. He was Executive Producer of Gotham TV a 44-hour series, which was awarded 3 Emmys including Best Cultural Documentary Programming as well as Best Entertainment Programming, and was the Senior Producer/Director of an A&E pilot. Additionally, he was Executive Producer of Gordon Elliott's Doorknock Dinners on Food Network.
Ted has worked on other series including: Martha Stewart Living, B. Smith with Style, Gastineau Girls, **Penn and Teller, Bullshit, ** Unsolved Mysteries, Homes Across America, Guinness World Records Primetime, Real Sex, America’s Most Wanted, America Under Cover, It’s A Miracle, How’d They Do That, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous to name a few. Additionally, he has worked in the creative services departments for NBC, Showtime, and Hearst Entertainment, creating trailers and marketing materials for movies, series, news, and specials. For MTV, he created VJ profiles for the Latin American launch and for Hearst Entertainment, created a documentary on how New York became home to the United Nations, and its subsequent architectural history, narrated by Walter Cronkite and introduced by Henry Kissinger. For WETA, Ted created a documentary on the psychology of boxing and was a director on a Prime-Time special for NBC entitled Confirmation: The Hard Evidence of Aliens Among Us. He was also Executive Producer and director for a Millennium documentary for the World Wildlife Fund
Prior to his work in television, Ted served as Director of Public Relations for The National Institute for People with Disabilities and Director of Artist Management for Gurtman and Murtha. There, he oversaw music specials featuring Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops, created WQXR Radio: In the Park - a live broadcast concert series from Lincoln Center, and produced Victor Borge's 80th Birthday at Carnegie Hall.
Born in Michigan and raised in New York, Ted earned a BA in Music Education and Performance on French Horn and Piano from Ithaca College, and continued his private studies with master classes at the New England Conservatory of Music winning numerous awards for his musical talent. He then moved to New York City to pursue a career in business, and attended New York University for credits towards an MBA in Arts Administration.
